1.The Central Government has increased the dearness allowance of its employees and pensioners by four percent.Thus, the dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners has now increased to 42 per cent. Its benefit will be available to 47 lakh central government employees and more than 69 lakh pensioners from January 1 this year.
2.In a major relief, the government has approved subsidy on the cost of domestic cooking gas cylinders to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved a subsidy of Rs 200 till filling of 12 cylinders of 14 kg 200 grams per year.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of several projects worth more than one thousand seven hundred and eighty crore rupees in Sampurnanand Sanskrit University campus. This includes the Passenger Ropeway Project from Varanasi Cantt Station to Godaulia. The ropeway system of about four kilometers will have four stations.
